He passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 1, after being diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2024, according to a statement from Morgan’s manager, Tony Conway.
Morgan shared her grief in a statement posted to Facebook, “Randy has been my partner, my champion and my rock for 17 years. Our big, wonderful family and I are devastated at the loss of this truly kind and incredible man. I was blessed by his love. Ran-Ran, I will love and miss you forever.”
Morgan’s son and White’s stepson, Jesse Keith Whitley, also paid tribute in an emotional message on social media. He described sitting with White in hospice and reflected on the man who had been part of his life since his early twenties.
Whitley wrote that White had embraced him and his sister as his own children, loved his mother unconditionally, and been “the most gentle soul to ever grace this entire family.” He shared personal memories, including how White would pick him up late at night without judgment, support him through struggles, and serve as a devoted grandfather.
He ended his message by writing, “We will miss you always and forever and our hearts are shattered in losing you. But you have fought one helluva fight RanMan! Rest easy say hello to everyone and love on Weezy.”
