A celebrated actor’s untimely passing has left fans and colleagues reeling, as new details begin to surface about the quiet battle he faced.

Devin Harjes, known for his roles in “Boardwalk Empire” and “Daredevil,” has died at 41. A representative said he passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Mount Sinai West Hospital in New York City due to complications from cancer. He was diagnosed earlier this winter.

In a statement, his representative described him as “an artist of great conviction” who gave his all to every performance. Off-screen, he was remembered as compassionate, generous, and deeply devoted to loved ones. The statement also noted his bond with animals and his passion for horseback riding.

He is survived by his parents, Randy and Rosanne Harjes; his sister, Trish Harjes, and her husband, Justin Kelley; two nephews, Tristin and Sawyer Kelley; two nieces, Rory and Charly Kelley; his former wife, Shiva Shobitha; and his beloved cat, Maude.

Friends remembered him for his warmth, sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.
