The event, though brief, offered a glimpse into a personal family moment inside the historic residence. Ivanka’s post highlighted the performance as Theo’s first original piece, suggesting a budding musical interest in the young Kushner.
Reactions to the performance were swift, and comments across platforms showed a mix of sentiments. Several people reacted to the moment on Instagram.
One person wrote, “Poor kid looked very awkward and under pressure [sic].” Another commented, “Wow he’s so big. I can’t believe he’s so big now. I remember when he was born. What a handsome guy.”

Theo is the youngest of Ivanka and Jared’s three children. His older siblings are Arabella Rose and Joseph Frederick.
In the recent video, Theo was seen sitting at a historic grand piano that holds deep roots in White House tradition. The instrument is the 300,000th Steinway, presented to President Franklin D. Roosevelt on December 10, 1938, by Mr. Theodore Steinway.

Designed as a “State Piano,” the case was made from Honduran mahogany and features gold leaf decorations by muralist Dunbar Beck. These illustrations depict five musical traditions considered native to America, including a New England barn dance and an Indian ceremonial dance.
Sculptor Albert Stewart crafted the three eagle-shaped legs from gilded mahogany. Although originally placed in the East Room, the piano now typically resides in the Entrance Hall and is often used during formal events.
Theo’s interest in music appears to be one of many talents. Earlier this year, on March 19, Ivanka shared a post celebrating her son’s first flag football tournament.

“This weekend was truly special—Theo, playing quarterback, participated in his first flag football tournament, and the team advanced to the championship game held at Dallas Cowboys’ practice stadium—a dream come true for my football-loving eight-year-old,” she wrote.
She described the experience as a “proud mom moment,” commending Theo and his team, the 305ers, for their performance and teamwork.
More recently, Ivanka highlighted another memorable moment involving her son during a White House event. “Celebrating with champions at the White House today! Congratulations to the @philadelphiaeagles on an amazing season and Super Bowl win!” she wrote in a caption.
“My highlight of the day? Theo challenging @saquon to a race in the Rose Garden after my father wisely demurred! 😂 Thanks Saquon for being such a great sport!” concluded Ivanka.
Through this short yet meaningful performance, Theo not only honored his grandfather but also added a new note to the long history of music within the presidential residence — one built on tradition, talent, and personal legacy.
While Theo has recently captured public attention, it was his mother who made headlines just two weeks earlier. Photos of Ivanka surfing surfaced on social media, prompting a wave of reactions from users across various platforms.

According to reports, Ivanka traveled to Costa Rica for a getaway, where she was photographed surfing in a black and white swimsuit. The pictures captured her confidently riding the waves and showcasing her surfing skills and toned body.
Responding to the photos, one stunned observer asked, “Where did she get that body???!!!! Ok imma [sic] be good.” Another admirer commented, “Wow, she looks great and she can actually surf!” Someone else pointed out her attire, stating, “Pretty modest suit compared to most I’ve seen lately.”
Sharing similar sentiments, one viewer remarked, “Its [sic] very refreshing to see a gorgeous woman not showing every inch of skin possible on the beach.” Another person found the images “Awesome!! 🤩 🏄🏼♀️.”
Someone else wrote, “She is truly one of most beautiful woman. I seen her in a swimsuit in Beverly Hills hotel few years back. She is perfect 👍[sic].” Compliments continued as another person simply added, “She is gorgeous.”
At the time the photos were taken, Ivanka was enjoying some fun and quality time at the beach with her children. The publication that released the images also captured video footage of the outing.
The footage revealed she not only surfed but also spent time on the sand with her children and splashed in the waters of Santa Teresa. Although her husband, Jared, wasn’t seen in the clip filmed on April 15, 2025, witnesses reported his presence at the beach.
During an appearance on the Lex Fridman Podcast on July 2, 2024, Ivanka opened up about her experience of being on a surfboard in the ocean. She shared, “It feels really beautiful, you know, with no noise, no chatter, no distractions. Just being in the moment.”
The businesswoman expressed awe at the experience of surfing, saying, “You just have to sort of be in it,” because you can’t fight the ocean. Ivanka also explained that one of the things she loves about surfing, similar to other water sports, is that “you’re like manipulating the environment, you know?”
She continued, “And there’s something that can be a little like violent about it, like you look at windsurfing. Whereas with surfing, you’re like in harmony with it. So you’re not fighting it, you’re flowing with it. And you still have like the agency of choosing which waves you’re gonna surf, and you sit there and you read the ocean, and you learn to understand it, but you can’t control it.”
When asked what it felt like to fall flat while learning the sport, Ivanka revealed that she had only started surfing a couple of years ago and admitted she wasn’t very skilled yet. However, she enjoys everything about the experience.
The real estate developer said she loves the physical nature of the sport and the feeling of being in the ocean. She noted that the most difficult part of surfing is paddling out and getting caught in the “impact line,” where “four or five, six waves crash on top of your head” with nowhere to go.
The politician explained that trying to fight against it is futile, but when there’s a break in the waves, she paddles intensely to get out of the line or back to the beach. As for her athletic build, Ivanka also attributed it to training in jiu-jitsu.

The former Senior Advisor to the President of the U.S. shared how she became involved in the sport. When her daughter, Arabella, was 11, she approached Ivanka saying she wanted to learn self-defense and how to protect herself.
The mother of three said she felt proud because, at that age, self-defense hadn’t even crossed her mind. After asking around, someone recommended the Valente Brothers studio.

Ivanka began taking Arabella to the studio and eventually joined her after being encouraged by her daughter. Her younger children, Joseph and Theodore, observed them and joined as well, which led Jared to participate too.
Ivanka finds it empowering to know she has the basic ability to protect herself. She explained that it provides her with a “sense of confidence” and a calm feeling of “knowing how to de-escalate rather than escalate a situation.”
She also said jiu-jitsu has helped her develop a heightened awareness in public spaces, unlike others who are often distracted by their phones in elevators or on the street.
In March 2025, Ivanka was seen in action at the studio with one of the Valente brothers. The caption of the post gave followers insight into the sport’s value, reading in part, “Jiu-Jitsu is more than a martial art. Rooted in ancient tradition and refined over generations, it offers a path to physical confidence, mental clarity, and emotional balance.”
Ivanka’s dedication to both surfing and jiu-jitsu reveals a commitment to strength, mindfulness, and growth. Her beach days and training sessions reflect a lifestyle grounded in purpose and balance.
