King Charles Seen for the First Time in Public After His Hospitalization – Photos
After reports surfaced of his hospitalization, King Charles III has been spotted out in public for the first time since then, which has the public buzzing with reactions.
King Charles III, 76, made a reassuring public appearance on Friday, March 28, 2025, offering glimpses to onlookers as he departed Clarence House in London in a black Audi — just one day after a short hospital stay linked to his ongoing cancer treatment.
According to Buckingham Palace, the 76-year-old monarch had been under observation on Thursday, March 27, due to side effects from his treatment. While his scheduled engagements for the day were called off, the palace did not indicate any significant changes in his condition.
King Charles III, who revealed his cancer diagnosis early last year (2024), has kept many details surrounding the illness private, including the specific type.
Despite stepping away from public-facing duties for roughly three months, the king has remained active behind the scenes, continuing to handle state affairs such as reviewing government documents and meeting with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
Dressed in a dark overcoat and seated in the back of the car, the king’s brief outing lifted the spirits of well-wishers gathered nearby.
Tourist Julian Mati, who happened to be visiting the palace, expressed his relief upon seeing the monarch in good spirits. “We were horrified when we heard the news yesterday. To see him smiling and waving, it’s such a relief,” Julian said.
Online spectators have also reacted to his appearance. “Londoners heading out of London is always a good idea. 😃👍 King Charles does look quite unwell overall so hopefully this break will benefit him. 👑🙏,” penned someone on X, while another person expressed, “Bless him. Let’s hope he goes somewhere where he can get some proper rest […] 🙏🙏 #GodSaveTheKing #LongLiveTheKing.”
