Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz have hired a lawyer previously used by Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid ongoing tensions within the Beckham family, PEOPLE understands.
Beckham, 26, and Peltz, 30, are working with British lawyer Jenny Afia, who works for the Schillings law firm, per The Mail on Sunday, which first reported the news.
The couple’s reps declined to comment, while a legal source tells PEOPLE, “There is absolutely no connection to Meghan and Harry. Schillings is a respected firm with a wide range of clients.”
“Ironically, the inaccurate reporting proves exactly why one hires legal counsel, to set the record straight and combat the spread of deliberate misinformation,” the source adds.

According to the Mail on Sunday, Beckham and Peltz, who tied the knot in 2022, have hired the lawyer to help them with their “reputation management.”
Afia previously represented Meghan in her privacy and copyright infringement case against the Mail on Sunday‘s publishers, as well as appearing on the BBC documentary, The Princes and the Press.
At the time, the lawyer, with Meghan’s permission, addressed claims that the Duchess of Sussex had bullied staff after marrying Harry — something her office has strongly refuted through the years.
Afia also represented Harry at his London court hearing in April, where he unsuccessfully appealed a High Court ruling regarding his security arrangements in the U.K.
The news comes after Beckham and Peltz joined Harry and Meghan at a recent dinner party in Montecito, Calif. last month.

PEOPLE understands the dinner was a group gathering hosted at the Montecito home of Meghan and Harry’s close friends, Paramount Pictures CEO Brian Robbins and his wife, Tracy Robbins — and the couple were not personally invited by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
“Brooklyn and Nicola were invited prior to David’s numerous global birthday galas, so the timing is pure coincidence,” a source exclusively told PEOPLE.

The source elaborated, “While it was an intimate gathering, there were several additional guests, including VIPs and film executives. Brooklyn and Nicola had a wonderful time and found Harry and Meghan to be particularly kind, caring and generous.”
Before news of the dinner emerged, PEOPLE reported last month that Beckham and Peltz had a strained relationship with his parents, Victoria and David Beckham.
A source said, “There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family.”
The couple have been noticeably absent from the Beckham family’s recent functions, including David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration, despite being invited, PEOPLE confirmed.
The insider added, “The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
