Beloved TV Host Daniel Bisogno Dies at 51 – Details

TV host Daniel Bisogno has passed away as confirmed by a statement shared by his news show. The cause of his demise has also been revealed.

Beloved Mexican television host Daniel Bisogno, known for his work on “Ventaneando,” passed away at 51 years old. According to a statement penned on Facebook by the news program, Bisogno died as a result of health issues related to liver complications following a liver transplant he underwent in September 2024.

“‘Window’ is mourning. Gone is one of our most outstanding members. Rest in peace. We will honor his memory always,” reads the conclusion of “Ventaneando’s” message, originally written in Spanish.

They accompanied the statement with a radiant photo of Bisogno smiling widely with one hand placed on his heart and looking dashing in a classy suit.

According to a report originally written in Spanish, Bisogno’s deteriorating condition had kept him away from the show multiple times.

Although the late TV personality had hoped to return to “Ventaneando” and his theatrical project “Lagunilla mi barrio,” doctors advised against it, requiring him to focus on his recovery and frequent hospital visits for routine checkups.

On February 12, his brother, Alex B, provided an update, revealing that while Bisogno’s condition was delicate, it was not considered critical at the time. However, complications arose post-transplant when a bacterial infection developed in his bile ducts, exacerbating his health struggles.

One of Bisogno’s last public appearances was via a phone call during the 29th anniversary of “Ventaneando,” where he expressed his deep appreciation for the show and its impact on his life.

“The best thing is that it has given me everything, both good and bad, and everything has been a great experience for the most part. Absolute happiness. I love you with all my heart,” he had said at the time. Despite his excitement to return, he emphasized that his health remained his top priority.

Since the news of Bisogno’s passing broke, an outpouring of tributes has flooded social media, with peers and friends honoring his legacy. They reflected on his impact both on-screen and in their personal lives.

One such tribute comes from renowned Mexican actor and comedian Eugenio Derbez, who posted a touching black-and-white photo of himself alongside Bisogno. In the image, Bisogno stands tall with his signature broad smile, dressed in a sleek black button-up shirt.

Beside him, Derbez, wearing a light-colored suit jacket over a dark shirt, playfully gestures toward his late friend with a distinct expression. The warmth between them is evident, a testament to their camaraderie and shared moments.

Derbez kept his caption simple yet deeply meaningful. It is a quiet but powerful acknowledgment of the host’s legacy.

Journalist Mónica Garza also took to social media to honor Bisogno’s memory, penning a heartfelt tribute on X. Her message, originally written in Spanish and loosely translated into English, captured the essence of the man she knew—beyond his television persona.

“I will always keep Daniel in my heart as I always experienced him: fun, generous, shyly bold, romantic, curious like a child, and a supportive friend like few others. Television, theater, and many of us will miss him. Rest in peace, Muñeco…” penned the journalist.

Alongside her words, Garza shared a nostalgic throwback photo of Bisogno. In the image, he is seen beaming, showing off his pearly whites. Wearing a black collared shirt and rectangular glasses, he appears at ease, likely in a lively social setting. The warm ambiance and blurred background suggest a cherished moment of joy.

Garza’s tribute not only highlighted Bisogno’s professional contributions but also the deep personal connections he fostered throughout his life. Referring to him as “Muñeco”—a term of endearment—she reinforced the affectionate bond they shared.

According to Deadline, the late “Ventaneando” co-host is survived by his brother and his 8-year-old daughter, Michaela.

Born on May 19, 1973, Bisogno had an undeniable passion for the entertainment industry from a young age. His career took shape through his work in radio and theater, but his defining moment came in 1997 when he joined “Ventaneando,” just a year after the show’s debut.

His journey to becoming a co-host was almost serendipitous. One day, when several main presenters, including “Ventaneando’s” lead host Pati Chapoy, were absent, Bisogno was invited alongside Esteban Macías and Atala Sarmiento to fill in.

His natural charisma, unfiltered commentary, and quick wit captivated both the audience and the production team. Recognizing his potential, the show offered him a permanent position, marking the start of an illustrious television career.

Bisogno became one of Mexico’s most recognized entertainment journalists, earning a reputation for his candid and bold takes on celebrity news. His outspoken personality made him a standout figure on “Ventaneando,” where he remained a fixture for many years.

Beyond television, he pursued his love for theater, starring in the long-running production “Lagunilla mi barrio” alongside Violeta Isfel and Maribel Guardia. He remained committed to the stage for years until his health forced him to step away.

In his personal life, Bisogno was married to Cristina Riva Palacio from 2014 to 2019. Though their romantic relationship ended, they maintained an amicable co-parenting dynamic for their daughter, Michaela.

At this time, we wish to extend our most sincere condolences to all of Bisogno’s loved ones, including his daughter, brother, ex-wife and mother of his child, other family members, and friends. We send our heartfelt wishes for healing as they mourn the loss of a bright star in the entertainment world. RIP, Bisogno.
