KCAL news anchor Chauncy Glover’s sudden death at just 39 years old left viewers heartbroken. Months later, a medical examiner has revealed the tragic cause.
The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner has confirmed that Chauncy Glover died from acute intoxication due to the combined effects of chloroethane and methamphetamine. “The manner of death is accident,” according to a report released on February 19, 2025.
Glover, 39, was found unresponsive in his home on November 5, 2024, and was pronounced dead by fire department personnel at 12:40 a.m.

News of Glover’ss passing sparked an outpouring of grief online. One user expressed disbelief, “There is no way I believe this. Had to be unknowingly [sic].” Another wrote, “So tragic, he was a great news anchor, RIP 💔🕊️🙏🏻.”
