With just a few days until I’m A Celeb is back, ITV has revealed their brand new first challenge, with the controversial ‘Walk the Plank’ in the bin.
For those living under a rock, ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! sees celebrities left in a jungle to fend for themselves all the while completing grim challenges to try and earn comforts for their camp, and stay in the show long enough to win.
The show is now a core part of British culture, with a multitude of huge names having appeared on there.
This year’s cohort is no different, with Coleen Rooney, Tulisa, GK Barry, and Danny Jones among the stars forgoing their creature comforts this year to eat bugs and sleep in a tent.
Each year for the last seven, the show has kicked off by having the cast members suspended 314 feet in the air in the Walk the Plank challenge.
This saw them hanging from the Focus building in Brisbane and having to either press a button, grab a flag, or hang over the side.
For all of us scared of heights (the most logical fear if you ask me) it was always a great reminder of the fact that, despite the mountain of money the top stars get for the show, it is still a deeply unpleasant experience.

This year though, they will be firmly on level ground, and instead of being hung off the side of a building, they will be getting some absolutely vile concoctions down their necks.
Contestants entering the villa were made to take on a ‘drinking challenge’ according to OK Magazine.
This was not the kind you may be thinking of, with no beer pong brought out, but instead they will be forced to swig a drink made up of a blended bull’s penis, fish eyes, and a ‘garnish of vomit fruit’.
In addition to this, an opening challenge will reportedly see the camp split into two, with both groups racing to camp.
One team featured Jane Moore, Dean McCullough, Danny Jones, Tulisa, and Oti Mabuse, while the other was made up of remaining contestants Coleen, Alan Halsall, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry, and Melvin Odoom

The show looks set to continue to produce bizarre moments, because who really thought they’d see Wagatha Christie, GK Barry, and Barry McGuigan all having a natter.
Joining the cast is set to be a pair of ‘late additions’ to the camp, in Love Island alum Maura Higgins and radio presenting priest Richard Coles.

With the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stars arriving in Australia, they’ll be getting themselves geared up to enter the jungle.
And with that comes the typical Bushtucker Trials, the meals of rice and beans, and, apparently, the absolute need to wear red socks.
Yep, according to a medic on the ITV show, there’s a pretty grim reason why the likes of Coleen Rooney and Maura Higgins will be wearing the thick things when I’m A Celeb starts this weekend.
They’ll also be joined by stars such as Melvin Odoom, GK Barry, and Oti Mabuse in this year’s whopper line-up.
The red socks are a must. (ITV)
Every year, the celebs wear those classic outfits, but it turns out the red socks aren’t necessarily just a uniform thing.
Bob McCarron worked on the show for years before hanging up his stethoscope, and he previously told Woman’s Own that the socks are actually to cover up blood splatters from the many and varied blood-sucking critters that live in the jungle.
Basically, one of the pitfalls of being on the show is that you will get bitten, you will pick up cuts and bruises, and the crew simply don’t want the celebs to look too much like they’ve been through the wars.
Brutal.
Also donning the red socks and appearing on the show this year are McFly star Danny Jones, Corrie actor Alan Halsall, and Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough.
Tulisa will also be making her TV comeback by taking part in I’m A Celeb as she returns following a long health battle.

Apparently, Tulisa has been approached for the show for a while, but ‘she’s never wanted to consider it’. But now, a decade since she left The X Factor, and off the back of an N-Dubz tour, it seems like the right time.
Before it was officially confirmed who was appearing in the show, TikToker GK Barry told reporters in Australia she was there ‘to go to a retreat’ and just be at ‘one with nature’.
McCullough comically said he was Down Under to ‘pick up two koalas’ he’s adopted, named ‘Anthony and Declan’.
The BBC Radio 1 DJ was asked if he’d be worried about any snakes or spiders, and responded: “I’m alright, I have dealt with enough snakes in my life. It’s not the snakes you need to be worried about.”

An expert has said that Coleen Rooney apparently isn’t doing I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! for the money despite getting the ‘highest fee ever’.
Yep, ‘Wagatha Christie’ herself is heading into the jungle as the line-up for this year’s series for the ITV show has been revealed.
Alongside the WAG icon, the likes of Tulisa, Love Island star Maura Higgins and boxing legend Barry McGuigan are set to head in.
But topping all the names, it’s been said Coleen is I’m A Celeb’s biggest ever signing as she’s reportedly bagged a deal surpassing the controversial £1.5 million fee Nigel Farage got last year.

According to PR expert and Press Box PR’s Head of Talent Lynn Carratt though, cash isn’t everything.
“I don’t believe for her it is about the money,” she says on behalf of Slingo.
“She and Wayne already have enough money to last them the rest of their lives. Coleen built a successful career for herself in the past but she turned down a lot of opportunities when she became a mum.
“She even upped sticks from her beloved Liverpool to live in Washington while Wayne played for DC United. His career came first.”
And with Wayne now working in the UK again, Carratt says it’s ‘Coleen’s time to pick back up her career and develop it’, adding how she will want to ‘make her family proud’.
The expert sums up: “There is no better show to do it on than I’m Celebrity, as it can show how likeable and tenacious a person can be.”
She also went on to point out how many millions Coleen could ‘definitely make’ if she does well in fashion and family brands with her being paid ‘£3 million back in 2010’ by Asda to front a campaign.
Of course, as fans will know, Coleen’s rival Rebekah Vardy had her own go on the show in 2017 when she was the fourth star to be evicted after 16 days in the jungle.

“So I’m sure Coleen will be aiming to top that,” Carratt adds.
And with so many of us having been hooked on the drama and court case between the pair of WAGs, there’s no denying people will be hoping she spills the tea in camp.

In case you missed it, the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! campmates for 2024 were revealed yesterday (1 November).
Yeah, bet that’s made you realise how fast this year has gone because as we all know, when a bunch of stars head into the jungle, Christmas is just around the corner.
It was previously confirmed by ITV that the show would be returning to our screens on 16 November as rumours began about which celebrities would be making an appearance.
And while the broadcaster did previously tell LADbible that ‘any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation’, The Sun has listed the famous faces taking part.
So, from Miss Wagatha Christie herself to BBC Radio 1 presenters and from a Love Islander to a Corrie star, here’s the line-up in full (although, we all know they like to throw in some later arrivals).
Oti Mabuse
She’s bringing her moves to the jungle (Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images)
From being a professional on Strictly Come Dancing and judging Dancing on Ice to hosting her documentary, Mabuse has become quite the household name.
The 34-year-old is pretty well loved and ‘always guaranteed to be great fun’.
GK Barry
She’s probably one of the most successful British TikTokers (Kate Green/Getty Images)
A TikToker who has taken to podcasting and TV, GK Barry – real name Grace Keeling – wouldn’t be the first internet star to make the leap to I’m A Celeb.
Nella Rose did it last year and it seems the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! team have decided to go for another influencer.
Plus, her work on Loose Women would mean she’s no stranger to appearing on ITV.
Dean McCullough
Jungle radio show? (Jed Cullen/Dave Benett/Getty Images)
The Radio 1 host is known for bringing banter to his shows and is ‘sure to be outspoken’ on I’m A Celeb, according to The Sun insider.
The Northern Irish presenter has done some TV work, including Big Brother: Late & Live, but is better known for his BBC radio work and on Gaydio.
Danny Jones
The Voice judge is following in his bandmate’s footsteps (Mike Marsland/Mike Marsland/WireImage)
With it being previously reported Tommy Fury pulled out of appearing, it’s said the McFly star is his replacement – making him the second member of the band to take on the jungle, following winner Dougie Poynter in 2011.
A jungle insider told The Sun: “As well as bringing some of the star appeal of the group with him, he’ll be supplying some serious guy candy for the campmates and viewers at home.”
Maura Higgins
A hot new bombshell has entered the jungle (Mike Marsland/WireImage)
Another late addition following Fury’s supposed exit, the Love Island star will be swapping the villa for the jungle camp.
Known for her sense of humour and straight-talking, she’ll be bringing the spice this year.
Barry McGuigan
Ready to take a whack at it (Mike Marsland/WireImage)
Having once took the p**s out of Amir Khan for failing a Bushtucker Trial, it seems the boxing promoter has decided to have a go himself.
It’s said McGuigan was yet another last-minute addition to this year’s I’m A Celeb following Ally McCoist dropping out.
Rev Richard Coles
From Sunday church to Bushtucker Trials (Gareth Cattermole/Getty Images)
The former BBC radio host (there’s a theme here) is taking to the jungle and will apparently have some ‘wild’ tales to tell.
Wonder if the priest will be saying a few prayers before chomping down on some gross food and animal bits?
Jane Moore
Time for a gossip round the campfire (David M. Benett/Dave Benett/Getty Images)
Another Loose Women star, because I’m A Celeb doesn’t seem right without any of them.
The 62-year-old is ready for her next challenge as she takes on the jungle Down Under.
Tulisa
The female boss, obviously (Mike Marsland/WireImage)
Heading into the jungle will mark a TV comeback for the N-Dubz star as she returns following a long health battle.
Apparently, Tulisa has been considered for the show for a while but ‘she’s never wanted to consider it’. But now, a decade since she left The X Factor and off the back of her group’s tour, it seems like the right time.
Alan Halsall
It’s not I’m A Celeb without a soap star (Shirlaine Forrest/Getty Images for Nickelodeon Slimefest)
The Coronation Street star was apparently supposed to be on I’m A Celeb last year before he got seriously injured.
Halsall, who plays Tyrone Dobbs on Corrie, had been rumoured to join before he announced to fans that he’d suffered a pretty serious leg injury.
Whether he’d been preparing to head into the jungle or not before, what he needed was time to recover rather than competing in the Celebrity Cyclone.
Melvin Odoom
He won’t be able to keep those tunes coming (Dave Benett/Getty Images for Tommy Hilfiger Watches & Jewellery)
Time for a new radio show from the jungle? Joining McCullough, this makes two current BBC Radio 1 presenters on the series this year.
He’d been rumoured to take part back in 2021 but turned it down.
“I think it’s an amazing show to watch,” he said at the time.
“I think it’s so entertaining, but I don’t think I could hack being in the jungle. I’d be too, too scared.”
Coleen Rooney
Nothing’s going to get past Coleen (Anthony Devlin/Getty Images)
Here she is, arguably the headliner of this year’s line up, the iconic ‘detective’ and WAG is said to be a big fan of the show which ‘it’s….. Rebekah Vardy’ herself took part in back in 2017.
Plus, it’s even said she’s getting paid the ‘highest fee ever’ for taking part in this year’s I’m A Celeb.

One of this year’s I’m A Celeb stars is set for an awkward reunion as the campmates have been revealed.
Yep, in case you missed it the line-up of celebrities heading Down Under was shared yesterday (1 November) with the show set to return later this month.
While there have been plenty of rumours in recent weeks about the stars joining, and ITV previously told LADbible that ‘any names suggested for I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! are just speculation’, it seems the mix might cause some drama.
And if there is any, I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it thanks to Coleen Rooney’s presence – the ultimate detective, of course.
It seems Maura Higgins is heading into the jungle (Karwai Tang/WireImage)
While there are two BBC Radio 1 hosts heading in along with a Corrie star and TikToker, there’s also Love Islander Maura Higgins.
The 33-year-old appeared on the dating show back in 2019 when she made it to the final. Since then, she’s taken part in Dancing on Ice, hosted the Irish version of Glow Up and is the host of Love Island USA: Aftersun.
And before she made her name in TV, Higgins worked as a ring girl for several professional boxers including the likes of Anthony Joshua.
During that time, she got together with boxing coach Shane McGuigan when he was commentating on a match in 2018.
Things didn’t quite work out between the pair though, reportedly due to the distance with Higgins living in Ireland and travelling for work while McGuigan was based in London.
While he might not be heading into the jungle to go on I’m a Celeb, his dad, Barry McGuigan is.
Yeah, sounds awkward right?

Although, it doesn’t seem like it was too much of a deep relationship between the pair as, according to The Sun, a source at the time said: “They went on a few dates and had fun, but Maura lives in Ireland.
“Shane is running his successful boxing gym in London, and then she was travelling for work, so it wasn’t easy to pull off.”
There apparently weren’t any ‘hard feelings’ when it ended and it was pretty ‘short-lived’ – so who knows if Higgins ever met the boxing promoter dad.
McGuigan was apparently a bit of a late casting for ITV as he reportedly replaced fellow star of the boxing world Ally McCoist.
