Members of the royal family are gathering in London for Trooping the Colour, the annual public celebration of the monarch’s birthday. The June 14 event marks the third time King Charles has been honored with the tradition during his reign.
Prince William and Kate Middleton will join the royals in the London parade, with the Prince of Wales riding on horseback while the Princess of Wales rides in a carriage with their three children: Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

King Charles and Queen Camilla sat together in a horse-drawn carriage in the London parade. Although King Charles rode on horseback at Trooping the Colour in previous years, including his first such event as monarch in 2023, he also rode in a coach last year, just months after his cancer diagnosis and ongoing treatment were publicly announced.

Prince William was one of three members of the royal family who rode on horseback at Trooping the Colour this year, joined by Princess Anne and Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh.

Princess Kate took part in the parade through London, riding in a horse-drawn carriage with her children. She sat side-by-side with Princess Charlotte, who sported a dress in a similar shade to her mom.
Seated across from them, Prince George and Prince Louis sported suits with red ties, color coordinating perfectly with dad Prince William’s military uniform.

While the 2024 Trooping the Colour called for closed carriages for the royal family due to rain, this year’s event was met with sunny skies. Crowds lined the streets of London to watch the festivities, including the members of the royal family taking part in the parade on horseback or riding in horse-drawn carriages.
