Spencer Pratt will forever stand in Heidi Montag‘s corner.
A day after the singer, 38, shocked fans by walking the 2025 American Music Awards red carpet with a blonde bob — a far departure from her trademark long locks — Pratt, 41, defended his wife against hate comments.
The proud husband replied to a comment on Tiktok in which a fan wrote about Montag, “I love love love her, but you should’ve stopped that wig.”
Pratt shared a photo of Montag at the event, which she attended wearing a bedazzled blue look by THE BLONDS, writing, “Only 3 days if you love her buy the Heidiwood album so she can afford better wigs in the future. Fancy wigs cost like 20k ask Beyoncè.”
Heidiwood is the name of Montag’s upcoming album, which is available to pre-save and pre-order now ahead of its May 30 release.
Over on his Instagram page, Pratt reiterated the same sentiments by sharing the video with the caption, “For the wig haters please pre-order HEIDIWOOD now so that future wigs have more budget ❤️🙏.”
His support didn’t stop there, however.
Pratt also responded to a Page Six article about Montag’s hair with the headline, “Heidi Montag dragged for wearing ‘world’s worst’ wig to AMAs 2025: ‘From Party City.'”

“A lot of people loved the wig. A lot of people didn’t love it so much, but you know what, we’re very thankful to be at the American Music Awards and having anyone talking about Heidi’s hair. What a blessing,” said Pratt in a second TikTok clip.
He said that he hopes he and his wife, with whom he shares sons Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2, will have “Beyoncé money” one day, as a “really nice wig is $20,000.”
“We don’t have [a] $20,000 wig budget,” he said. “So it’s a cute little wig for the money we can afford for a wig. It was just supposed to be a fun little ‘Oh look at the wig.’ And it worked, I guess.”

“I’m so thankful that so many people care about Heidi and they want her to look the best she possibly can on a red carpet and a lot of people loved the wig so its all good,” he continued.
Montag opened up to Entertainment Tonight at the AMAs about why she wanted to experiment with her hair.
