Misa Hylton, who was in a relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs in the early ’90s, ha spoken out about her appearance at the rapper’s New York City criminal trial.

In an Instagram post shared on Saturday, May 18, Hylton, 52, explained why she decided to attend the trial in support of her and Combs’ 31-year-old son, Justin Combs.

“Yes, I’m good everyone. I’m on my healing journey,” Hylton began her lengthy caption, explaining that she was using a walker at the courthouse due to a recent leg injury.

“When I suffered my injury I had chosen to heal privately,” the celebrity stylist continued, “but when my son said, ‘Mommy, I need you,’ I was right there for him walker and all.”

Sharing her support for her son — who has previously offered his own public support for his father amid his sex-trafficking allegations — Hylton wrote, “I’m a MOTHER FIRST, FOR REAL, and I am my son’s strength and that’s just what it is. Plain and simple.”

“Whoever doesn’t understand that just simply isn’t in alignment with me or anything that I’m about in life. I’m cool with that,” she added, in part. “I have a purpose-filled life that I live daily. I make impact. I’m not concerned with insecure people attempting to project their insecurities on to me. EVER.”

Hylton also shared a brief message addressing the use of her walker: “To all of my temporarily disabled and disabled people, don’t ever be ashamed of your condition or the need to use the medical tools created to assist in your healing or the way you need to move around in this world. 💪🏽.”

“If you have God in your heart, pray for us all. Be kind, use critical thinking and hold your head high,” she concluded the post, before ending with a joke: “P.S. It took me everything in my soul to not turn into Pac leaving the courtroom, outside of the courthouse 😭😭😭 [If you know, you know].”

The “I’ll Be Missing You” rapper, 55, and Hylton dated in the early ’90s, and they welcomed their son Justin in December 1993. Though the couple broke up shortly after, they have remained close, and Hylton has been photographed with Combs at many events since.

The fashion designer has also been outspoken about the allegations against her ex.

After Combs’ Los Angeles home was raided in March 2024, Hylton criticized the Homeland Security agents’ use of “overzealous and overtly militarized force” against Justin and his brother, Christian “King” Combs, who were handcuffed during the raid.

“[The force] used against my sons Justin and Christian is deplorable. If these were the sons of a non-Black celebrity, they would not have been handled with the same aggression,” she wrote on Instagram, posting video footage of Justin and Christian being handcuffed by Homeland Security agents. “The attempt to humiliate and terrorize these innocent young BLACK MEN is despicable!”

Additionally, after CNN released footage of Combs allegedly physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura in a hotel in March 2016, Hylton extended her support in an Instagram post alongside photos of Combs’ seven kids.

“I am heartbroken that Cassie must relive the horror of her abuse, and my heart goes out to her. I know exactly how she feels, and through my empathy, it has triggered my own trauma,” she wrote.

Hylton continued, “These young people were raised by women that want the best for them – we put God and education first and have always been united in our mutual effort to support their dreams. Two of the youngest do not have their mother here and it has been our duty to support them.”

She added that the children’s father “needs help” and that she was “praying that he truly does the personal work and receives it.”

Combs, who was arrested in September 2024, has denied all of the allegations against him and pleaded not guilty to five criminal counts, including one count of racketeering conspiracy; two counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
