The reality star and the rapper sparked engagement rumors after the former flashed a huge diamond ring on her left hand

Brittany Renner has no doubts that Kevin Gates is her soulmate.
While exclusively speaking to PEOPLE at the season 12 premiere of Basketball Wives, the reality star, 33, shared how converting to Islam had changed her life before opening up about how her “husband” Gates, has been supportive of her values.
“Islam has made my life better in every single category. And like my husband says, the closer you get to God, the more you get. And literally in every category of my life. I mean, dreams happen,” she gushed, flashing the diamond ring on her finger. “It is been really beautiful. It’s changed my life. It’s for the better.”
When asked how Renner knew Gates was “the one,” the television personality admitted that their love was “hard to describe” but his name echoed in “every chamber of my heart.”
“All I can say is, is that I’m with the person that I quite literally dreamed of,” she continued. “And to be able to just wake up next to him and spend time with him, even to have him here behind me, it’s like so surreal. He’s just the most beautiful person inside and out that I’ve ever met.”
The couple are still figuring out what they’d like their future to look like, but Renner said their biggest priority was staying in the moment.
“I think that’s where people get a little lost,” she shared. “Like, we gotta stay present and I feel like when we get too far ahead, we don’t live in the now and have fun in the now and pour in each other into each other in the now.”

“The little things really add up. So the future? It’s no concern of mine,” she added.
After sparking engagement rumors at the Basketball Wives premiere, the couple continued to fuel speculation after Renner called Gates “my huzband” in an Instagram post on May 4. The post included photos of the two posing on the carpet, and Renner holding up the huge diamond on her ring finger.
Their seeming engagement comes after the two went Instagram official in April with a series of photos featuring the pair at dinner.
