Heidi Klum put her full trust in Vetements for her 2025 Met Gala gown.

The German supermodel, 51, made her Metropolitan Museum of Art return after a 12-year hiatus. She told InStyle that she had not laid eyes on her custom dress until three days before the big event.

“I saw my look for the first time just three days ago,” she told the publication before the special occasion.

“I never got the sketch, photo, or video of my look in the process of it being created,” Klum said. “But, since I was working with Guram Gvasalia of Vetements — a designer I fully believe in and trust his vision — I was sure he would create the best look possible.”

This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was inspired by guest curator Monica L. Miller’s 2009 book Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity. It explores “the Black dandy as both a concept and an identity signifier.”

“Guram brought it right down to the origin, which is the fabric. He took a very beautiful tailoring material and basically draped it once around my body, and the rest of the fabric hangs down the back. It is super sophisticated, but also super simple,” Klum said.

She added, “My style is eclectic. I like a little bit of everything. And I love that my look for the Met Gala this is year is simple but perfectly tailored and elegant.”
