Meghan Markle’s Kids Spark Strong Reaction with Their ‘Gorgeous Red Hair’ – How They Have Changed?

The Duchess of Sussex’s husband shared that their children are growing up “very very fast.” The pair are raising them differently from the way they were brought up.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, have inherited their father’s looks. Though they’re seldom seen in public, both made brief appearances in their parents’ Netflix docuseries, “Harry and Meghan” in 2022.

In the heartwarming home footage, Prince Archie was seen baking with Markle’s niece Ashleigh, standing on a stool as he stirred batter in a bowl, his soft auburn curls clearly visible.

Another scene captured a quiet moment on the couch — Prince Harry read to Archie while Lilibet sat nearby, surrounded by their dogs.

In yet another clip, Markle carried Princess Lilibet as they fed chickens together, the toddler bundled up in a cozy knit hat with a fluffy pom-pom, her fair hair peeking out from beneath it.

Prince Archie has ginger curls identical to his father’s, while Princess Lilibet inherited Prince Harry’s bright-blue eyes and the same fiery shade of hair.

Fast forward to 2025, Markle shared glimpses of the kids on social media while gardening with them. In the photos, Princess Lilibet stood beside a bed of blooming pink roses, her long, ginger hair gleaming under the sun. She wore a light outfit, with her back to the camera as Markle gently guided her hand toward a flower.

Prince Archie, also photographed from behind, stood among the same vibrant garden. His neatly trimmed red curls were unmistakable, and he wore a navy top and dark trousers as he leaned in close to the blossoms.

The images quickly caught the attention of netizens, many of whom commented on the siblings’ striking features. They couldn’t help but praise their appearance, with one noting“ARCHIE AND LILIBET’S RED HAIR.” Another chimed in“Lili has daddies hair colouring just like the Spencers.”

Comments continued to pour in, with one writing, “Just look at their gorgeous red hair,” and another adding“So cute, look at Lilibet’s hair 😍 and Archie, he’s getting so big.” Others admired Prince Archie’s growth, predicting“Archie is going to be tall like his Daddy,” while one person remarked“He is, he’s going to be such a handsome boy.”

Beyond his physical traits, glimpses into Prince Archie’s early years reveal a lively, curious child with a strong sense of wonder. Born in May 2019, he is the eldest of Markle and Prince Harry’s two children.

At the 5th Invictus Games opening ceremony in April 2022, Prince Harry spoke publicly about his son. Addressing the crowd in The Hague, he mentioned that Prince Archie’s career interests shifted frequently:

“When I talk to my son Archie about what he wants to be when he grows up, some days it’s an astronaut, other days it’s a pilot — a helicopter pilot obviously — or Kwazii from Octonauts.”

He emphasized the value they place on personal integrity over professional goals, adding, “But what I remind him is that no matter what you want to be when you grow up, it’s your character that matters most.”

Nothing would make his parents prouder than seeing him grow into the kind of person reflected in the individuals present that day at the said event. That same year, everyday moments at home offered a different perspective on his personality.

At age three, Prince Archie was already full of questions and energy during a ride home from school in Montecito, California. While enjoying a quesadilla, he insisted on rolling the window down — but only after passing a certain hedge he liked.

As Markle reviewed his teacher’s report, which confirmed he was ready for full school days, the young royal chimed in to explain why he didn’t eat his sandwich and why he had to change shirts after water play.

On that same drive, a simple question — “Why are you afraid of heights like an airplane?” — sparked a talk about courage. When he skipped a please or thank you, Markle gently reminded him about manners. At a stoplight, she handed a black backpack from the trunk to her security team to give to a man without shelter. They had packed it with snacks and water to help those in need. Young Prince Archie proudly added, “I ate one!”

Time has moved quickly since then. Prince Archie turned five in May 2024. It was previously shared that he would be attending pre-school and is expected to begin full-time education upon turning six.

As Prince Archie continues to grow and prepare for school, his younger sister, Princess Lilibet, is also reaching new milestones. At just three years old, Princess Lilibet has already experienced a meaningful family event.

In March 2023, she was christened in a private ceremony at the family’s Montecito home. A representative for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed the occasion. A source noted that invitations were extended to King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William, and Kate Middleton, though they did not attend the ceremony.

In addition to sharing personal milestones, Markle has also opened up about the values she hopes to instill in Princess Lilibet. Speaking on an episode of her “Archetypes” podcast titled “Breaking Down the Bimbo,” she reflected on her brief experience as a model on “Deal or No Deal” game show. She described the role as objectifying:

“I ended up quitting the show. I was so much more than what was being objectified on the stage. I didn’t like feeling forced to be all looks. And little substance.”

Markle recalled being required to undergo beauty routines such as using bra padding, attaching false eyelashes, and wearing hair extensions, all of which contributed to a sense of being reduced to a single image — “the word bimbo.” She expressed a clear vision for her daughter’s future:

“I want our daughter to aspire to be slightly higher. Yeah, I want my Lili to want to be educated and want to be smart and to pride herself on those things.”

Expanding on her thoughts about raising children, the Duchess of Sussex has also shared memories from her own upbringing that help shape the choices she makes today.

During a conversation with Mindy Kaling on her Archetypes podcast, she mentioned spending much of her childhood alone. Raised in Los Angeles, the public figure lived in a modest two-bedroom home with her family before moving with her mother to an apartment after her parents divorced.

With both parents working, the California native often had to care for herself after school. Now, with different resources and flexibility through her Archewell Foundation, she is able to structure her work around her role as a parent.

Following her reflections on childhood and parenting flexibility, Markle also spoke candidly about managing daily responsibilities as a mother. In an April 2025 interview, she shared that both of her children were home sick — one with the flu and the other with RSV — while she recorded the episode.

Responding to a comment from Reshma Saujani about motherhood being her most meaningful role, Markle described her parenting approach as hands-on and emotionally present. The mother of two admitted she sometimes turns down time for herself, even when her husband Prince Harry encourages her to rest. She said:

“Oh my gosh. I love being a mom so much. It’s my favorite thing.”

Markle explained that even when overwhelmed, she finds comfort in being near her children. “Then my husband’s like, ‘My love, can you just give yourself a minute? Why don’t you go work out? Why don’t you go take a bath?’ I’m like, I know, but I just want to cuddle,” the royal gushed.

Her words highlighted the emotional bond she shares with her children, and that deep connection is echoed by Prince Harry when speaking about fatherhood. In a separate interview, he shared:

“The kids are doing great. The kids are growing up like all kids do, very very fast.”

The father of two added that both Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have a strong sense of humor, often making their parents laugh and keeping them grounded. “So I’m just very grateful to be a dad,” he concluded.

Prince Harry, during a talk with Dr. Gabor Maté, said his childhood shaped how he parents today. Recalling a lack of affection growing up, he shared that he makes a conscious effort to “smother [his kids] with love and affection” — though not so much that they “try to get away.” The Duke of Sussex added that therapy helped him become more aware of his actions, aiming not to pass down past traumas.

At home, Prince Harry and Markle prioritize a grounded childhood for Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. A source divulged that they are “very united” in parenting and that “their kids are their world.” The children, who do gardening with their mother, enjoy beach trips, walks, playdates, and play-based activities, including time on a climbing gym at home.

Prince Harry and Markle are raising their children with intention and care. Their approach blends personal growth with everyday presence. At the core is a shared commitment to love, character, and family.
