TikTok Star Spent Years Saving Money for a Nose Job That Changed Her Life — Her Before & After Rhinoplasty Photos
Devyn Aiken shared one decision with the internet but the story behind it had been building for years. What followed wasn’t just a transformation, but a moment of connection that resonated with thousands.
A growing TikTok creator known for her unfiltered posts and before-and-after content, Devyn Aiken had spent much of her life thinking about one thing: changing the feature that had shaped her self-image since her early teens.

After enduring years of bullying and insecurity over her nose, the Philadelphia-based paralegal decided to undergo a rhinoplasty — and documented every step of her transformation for her growing audience.
Her story isn’t just about a cosmetic change. It’s about ownership, resilience, and the emotional weight that one body part can carry. Now, with a new appearance, a new apartment, and a new chapter in her personal life, Aiken is using her platform to speak openly about her journey — and the freedom she feels on the other side.

A Face She Grew up With — And Quietly Hoped to Change
Aiken never considered herself unattractive. Even as a child, she carried herself with a strong sense of confidence. “I thought I was a pretty girl. I didn’t think I was ugly … You could ask anyone. They would think that I am very confident, very secure with who I was,” she told People in February 2025. “I just thought I had a huge nose that I hated.”

For Aiken, a Philadelphia-based paralegal, her nose wasn’t just a feature — it was a fixation. While her family had more traditionally proportioned noses, she developed a more prominent profile during her early teens.
That difference soon became a source of insecurity, especially as she entered middle school. During those years, Aiken faced relentless verbal bullying, often from male classmates who fixated on her nose and made it the subject of constant ridicule.

“I was bullied a lot, especially in middle school, and it was just from guys,” she recalled. The teasing often focused on her nose, with classmates comparing her to birds and cartoon characters. Over time, she began to believe that if she could change that one feature, the criticism might stop.

The experience planted the idea of surgery early on. At 14, she asked her mother if she could get a nose job, but was told she was too young and her face was still developing. Even so, the thought stayed with her.
A Decade of Planning and Saving
As she grew older, Aiken became increasingly aware of the way her nose dominated first impressions. She noticed it in the way strangers looked at her in public, in passing conversations, and in her own reflection.
At 18, she went to her first rhinoplasty consultation on her own. But with no medical need and no insurance coverage for cosmetic procedures, the $11,000 cost made it impossible at the time.

“It was purely cosmetic. Insurance didn’t pay. This was straight-up vanity,” she explained. So she waited. For more than a decade, Aiken gradually saved while thoroughly researching the procedure, determined to make the right choice when the time came.
She consulted with offices across New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania, focusing on one critical factor: finding an ENT surgeon – a physician specializing in ear, nose, and throat care, also known as an otolaryngologist.

Aiken wanted to avoid any risk of complications like empty nose syndrome and prioritized post-surgery breathing as much as appearance. “I wanted to make sure I could breathe afterward,” she said.
Eventually, she selected Dr. Mark Ginsburg, a triple board-certified facial plastic surgeon known for producing natural, balanced results. Her request was specific: she wanted her dorsal hump removed, nostrils slightly reduced, and the bridge straightened — but without losing the essence of her face.
“I didn’t want to not look like me. A lot of people get a little small Barbie nose. That would not fit my face,” she shared. “But I wanted something that was very natural and subtle.”

With the help of 4D morphing software, Ginsburg showed her what she could expect post-surgery. Satisfied with the plan, Aiken quietly scheduled her surgery — only telling her family a week beforehand. It wasn’t about secrecy, but about self-protection.
“I kind of kept it secretive, and then I just did it,” she said. “They were like, ‘Whatever will make you happy. We want you to be happy. We’re so there for you.'”

The Day Everything Changed
Aiken underwent the procedure in November 2024, according to the New York Post. The night before surgery, she was overcome with emotion. “I literally vomited all night,” she revealed to People. She spent the night sleeping on the bathroom floor.

For the first three weeks following the surgery, her mother was by her side for every appointment and handled all aspects of her recovery. “She was literally an angel,” Aiken said of her mom.
Within days of surgery, Aiken posted her first video documenting her experience on TikTok. At the time, she had no idea just how many people it would reach.

“I documented it from day one. I posted a video when I was on my bed recovering still,” she said. Aiken realized that by sharing her experience, she could support others considering the same procedure. So, she decided to openly document each step of her recovery.

Finding a Following on TikTok and Earning Support
Aiken’s honesty and transparency struck a chord. Her TikTok account, @doseofdevy, has since grown to over 67,000 followers and 4.3 million likes.

Unlike many influencers, she didn’t remove her older content. Her profile remains filled with “before” videos from her everyday life, and she openly posts dramatic side-by-side comparisons.

“I left all my videos up, my photos, and I’m just owning it. I got a nose job,” she said. “I’m not going to erase who I was. And I love posting the before and after because it’s such a dramatic difference.”

In January, she also had lip fillers done. The physical changes, while subtle, contributed to a massive internal shift.
Aiken shared, “I just feel so happy every time I look in the mirror. It’s literally life-changing … Now I can just shop in peace. I can go out in peace and I don’t have to worry if someone’s making a comment. I feel relieved.”

Her TikTok videos prompted thousands of comments — many from people considering surgery themselves, others simply cheering her on.

One admirer cheered, “It was worth it!!! You look great!” while a second noted, “Looks natural, subtle and beautiful!” Another expressed excitement, “Ya HAD to… You look great [sic]!!!” A commenter gushed, “oh wow! you look amazing!” while someone else echoed, “It looks amazing 😭.”

She even formed a friendship through her content. One of Ginsburg’s other patients reached out to Aiken after seeing her videos. Coincidentally, they had a post-op appointment on the same day — and instantly clicked. “We joke about it. We’re like, ‘We paid 12 grand for a best friend,'” Aiken shared.
Turning the Page on Marriage
One month after her surgery, in December, Aiken finalized her divorce from her husband of seven years. Though the couple had been separated privately for years, the recovery period gave her space to reflect and officially close that chapter of her life.

“We got married very prematurely and young, while not fully understanding the concept or commitment … We knew we were not a match,” she said. Soon after, she posted a video walking through her new apartment, calling it the start of something new.
Aiken later confirmed that she had started seeing someone and said it had been an enjoyable experience so far. She occasionally shares glimpses of her love life in TikToks with the hashtag “LifeAfterDivorce.”
She shared that she looks forward to their time together and is excited about where the new relationship might lead.

Responding to the New York Post’s Claims
In April 2025, The New York Post published a story that tied Aiken’s rhinoplasty to the breakdown of her marriage. The article suggested her cosmetic transformation was the reason she left her husband — a framing Aiken later challenged in a TikTok video.

She addressed the timeline directly, “We’ve been separated for years, we were living separate [sic], I got my nose job, and basically we sold our marital home.”
The recovery period, she said, gave her time to process what she already knew — that it was time to formally close that chapter. “I was turning 30, and I just was home recovering on the couch, in my bed, and realized I need to finally move on with this part of my life,” she revealed.

Devyn Aiken continues explaining the timeline of her rhinoplasty and divorce, aiming to clarify misleading assumptions.
Aiken also responded to speculation that the divorce was driven by post-surgery confidence, “That was not the series of events that happened that I just really want to set that record straight.” Regarding financial rumors, she clarified that the procedure had been entirely self-funded.
She also explained her choice to keep the separation private until she felt ready to speak publicly about it, “I finally did confirm it because I didn’t think it was fair that I needed to hide this and keep this part of my life a secret.”
More than a Cosmetic Change
While Aiken’s nose may have changed, her openness and self-awareness have remained consistent. Her story has resonated with followers not because of the physical results, but because of her vulnerability and honesty.
“People will comment on my videos like, ‘Oh, my God. You’re glowing. We see how happy you are,'” she said. “That’s my favorite comment, that you can see the confidence change.”
Her journey, years in the making, is not about vanity or reinvention. It’s about claiming control, shedding shame, and finally living without the self-doubt that followed her since adolescence.
