Netizens react after a resurfaced photo of the 78-year-old singer’s son draws attention online, just as news breaks of his split from Marieangela King.

On April 8, People magazine reported that Elijah Blue Allman — Cher’s son with the late Gregg Allman — is now the subject of a new divorce filing. His estranged wife, Marieangela King, filed to dissolve their marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.

While the legal news drew attention, the photo People shared alongside the report sparked an even bigger reaction online. “Is it me or is this the first time we’ve ever seen a picture of him,” one netizen asked.

Another chimed in, “Wait. Cher has more then one child. Im lost [sic]. Did I forget? 🙄.” A third remarked, “I had forgotten Cher had another child.” Someone else noted, “He looks so much like his dad.”

In the filing, King requested $6,000 per month in spousal support and asked to keep their 2017 Toyota Prius. If Allman retains the car, she wants a $2,000 one-time payment and an extra $500 monthly. She also asked the court to have him cover her legal fees.

The couple tied the knot in 2013 and officially separated on March 31, 2025, according to court documents.

“We had a beautiful 13-year journey, filled with memories I’ll always cherish. I know we’ll remain friends, and Elijah will always hold a special place in my heart,” King said, adding that they hope to handle this next chapter privately and appreciate the public’s understanding.
