Michael Che should watch his back when Scarlett Johansson returns to Studio 8H to host this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.

In her new Vanity Fair cover story, the 40-year-old actress looked back on her husband Colin Jost delivering Che’s infamous roast beef joke on SNL in December.

During the Weekend Update segment on the show’s winter finale — during which the cohosts swapped jokes they had written for each other but never seen before — Jost said that “Costco has removed their roast beef sandwich from their menu,” adding, “But I ain’t tripping, I be eating roast beef every night since my wife had the kid.”

He then lowered his face in his hands in apparent horror while Johansson, with whom he shares 3-year-old son Cosmo, appeared shocked, mouthing, “Oh my God,” from backstage.

Johansson recalled to the outlet, “I had all these cameras on me. I didn’t expect the setup to be like that. I was like, ‘Wow, you really are seventh-, eighth-grade boys.’ ”

As for Che, he should expect payback for the joke when Johansson returns to host SNL for a seventh time on May 17.

“I feel like it’s almost my responsibility to come up with some way to burn Michael back,” she said. “Retaliation, I’d say, should be expected. Others on the show could support this desire. Know what I mean?”

Johansson previously told InStyle that she was shocked by the joke, saying, “I just can’t believe that they went there.”

“It was so vulgar,” she noted. “It was so gross. It was really gross. And, like, old-school gross.”

While she had a heads-up that there was a “vagina joke” coming for Jost, 42, to deliver — which Che, 41, had written — she recalled thinking, “It’s a vagina joke, how bad could it be?”

“And then as soon as the Costco photo came up, I was like, ‘No! No, Michael!’ ” she shared.

The actress said having her reaction captured in real time was “so intense,” adding, “They were waiting for me to react. I felt insane. The fact that it took on a full To Catch a Predator-style reveal or whatever … All of a sudden, it was like a whole bunch of people holding up lights, and a guy with a video camera.”

As for Jost, he told Jimmy Fallon in January that his wife was “genuinely so shocked” by the joke as he quipped, “I’m in trouble, I think, with a lot of people.”

“They were like, ‘Hey, would you be okay if Michael made a little, like, kind of vagina joke at some point?’ ” he recalled. “She was like, ‘Sure, whatever, I’m open to it.’ I didn’t know where it was going.”

Saturday Night Live airs live on Saturdays at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
