Amy Robach has some regrets about her quick marriage to her ex-husband, Andrew Shue.

During a May 21 episode of the I Do, Part 2 podcast, the former broadcast journalist, 52, called her brief engagement to Shue “embarrassing” while she and her current boyfriend, T.J. Holmes, discussed how long they dated their former spouses before getting married.

Robach began by reflecting on her first marriage to Tim McIntosh. The former couple were married from 1996 to 2008.

“[My] first one I was so young, but it was a year engagement,” she recalled. “I dated for a year and then got engaged after a year. So I got married after two years.”

When it came to her second marriage to Shue, the television personality called their fast engagement “a little embarrassing” and revealed that the two got “engaged after four months, and I got married after ten months of meeting him.”

However, in November 2022, Robach and Holmes’ romance was made public, when photos of the former GMA3: What You Need to Know cohosts were photographed cozying up together. Though she later cleared up the timeline and claimed she and Shue were separated at the time, Robach had not publicly confirmed their split, nor had Holmes from ex-wife Marilee Fiebig.

Robach’s divorce to Shue was eventually finalized in March 2023.

The following month, ABC announced that the journalists would not be returning to their roles on the morning show as a result of the company’s investigation into their romance.

Since then, Robach and Holmes have been candid about their relationship on their podcast, Amy & T.J., and have opened up about their plans to get married.

On a June 2024 episode of their podcast, Holmes recalled an experience in which a store employee offered to check “on [his] wife,” referring to Robach.

“I didn’t correct her,” Holmes said at the time. “Later, we were checking out and we were left. She said, ‘You guys are so cute,’ and all this. And she said, ‘You guys boyfriend and girlfriend or husband and wife?’ And my answer was—”

“Both,” Robach chimed in, adding, “And I think they thought that we were husband and wife, and it was sweet that you were also saying I’m your girlfriend, too. ‘Is she your wife or your girlfriend? And you said both.’ And they said, ‘Good answer.’ ”
