“Her body was found at 5:50 yesterday morning in Spears Woods, part of the Forest Preserves of Cook County,” Carl Vogel, Director of Communications for the agency, tells PEOPLE. “Our deepest condolences to the family.”

The tragic news comes two days after the young woman was last seen by her mom at her home at around 11 a.m. local time on Friday, May 16. Later that day, she may have been near Spear Woods, close to the intersection of West 87th Street and South LaGrange Road in Palos Township, the sheriff’s office told The CW affiliate WGN. Officials did not have more information about the incident, and the investigation is ongoing.

“The Orland Park Police Department expresses our deepest condolences to the family of Reanna Hammad of unincorporated Palos Township,” the police department said.
