With this direction, The Met aimed to balance structure with creativity while honoring the cultural depth and historical significance of the exhibition.

Speaking about her look in an interview with E! News, Shakira praised designer Prabal Gurung for his understanding of women’s bodies and his ability to tailor the gown to her figure. “He’s an amazing designer who understands women’s bodies really well,” she said. “So this fit like a glove almost instantly, but we did have like three fittings.”
